Hi there,

I have a feeling that trains terminate in the UK too, but that's not the reason I am leaving this comment.

We have just returned from skiing in Austria, where the hotel hosts kindly provided us with printed weather forecast translations at breakfast time. They often contained wonderful examples of Gerglish. All was done with the best intentions, so I can hardly criticise them, but we did giggle at breakfast having read such things as:

"While all come down to Monday for a short time a little more cloud cover, with perhaps periodic rain, but soon sat down again by the sun and temperatures in the afternoon close to 15 degrees."

"On Friday in North Tyrol continued willingness of rain" (we loved this, it describes our weather in NW UK ever so well)

"In the following days the weather stabilises and then slowly it starts to loosen up more."

"On Wednesday the clouds in the country are everywhere tight, especially in the south to expect more rain showers and rain showers, some heavy hair dryer blowing in Northern Tyrol"

Greetings from sunny Lancaster
(with continued willingness of rain)

When I read and see all this I almost wonder why I moved away from Holland so many years ago. What a fabulous time you are having. Can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks!

Josh and Sabine,

I am so sorry for the loss of your Opa. This is a beautiful story and a lovely tribute to such a fine man. Thank you for sharing it. I'll be thinking of you and your family and smiling at the thought of your grandparents reuniting.
