Ex-pat Newlyweds

We’re heading back to Cologne tonight for a weekend partying like only Catholics can before Lent.

Ok, so the religious stuff has really fallen off the map for most Germans and for many, it’s just a weekend of debauchery and letting loose. A parade every day in a different city and beds going neglected for five days in a row. It’s Carnival time and we’re at the very end of Cologne’s “Fifth Season”.

Josh and I will be doing our best impersonation of these guys.

Oh yes, costumes are involved and we all know how I love a good costume. Josh will be in all red and I’ll be green, the stop and go Berliner Ampelmännchen.

And we’re looking forward to seeing the family again of course, but Dom will be joining us as well! Dom has left his costume up to me… very brave. For fear of his snooping, I will have to post photos of him in costume later. Muahahahaha. Also joining us from our “vie Canadienne” is Andrew — we’ll be looking for him in Wahn tomorrow.

And yes, there will be lots of pictures to post when we come back.
