Boxes for Berlin

with one comment

Please send aid — our home has become a certified disaster zone.

I wouldn’t compare it to New Orleans after Katrina, or even Vancouver after the big windstorm in December 2006. No, it’s hurricane Berlin that has ripped apart our closets, booksheles and drawers and dumped everything into a pile on various parts of our floor.

In the living room, we have books. Piles of books. Books that are staying, books that are going and books that are sold. We have countless ads on Craigslist for said books, bags, sports equipment, camera gear and other things the nooks of our house has collected. It’s moving time and there is nothing like a trans-Atlantic move to clear out the attic (for us, it’s a metaphoric attic that is more like the storage closet).

Josh and I have three weeks to go before we make the big move — and only two weekends thanks to a “farewell tour” of Regina that I’m taking for a weekend.

Married life so far is hectic and so far, that’s the only married life we know.

  1. I confirm that a transatlantic move is the best way to get rid of loads of encumbrance.

But get ready to despair because, after settling on the other side of the pond, you will quickly notice that encumbrance will start to pile up again.
