Ex-pat Newlyweds

…and a bump!

Signed, sealed, delivered, I’m yours…

Sorry for the delay. I’m just married.

Well, two weeks and one day but whose counting? I’ll get over it.

The wedding was perfect. The rain held off, it was a crisp day and besides some trouble from Vancouver’s Star Limosine, it was a party. First thing in the morning, I was nervous, worked up, I cried in the shower. I got it out of my system though when I realised there was nothing more I could do at this point other than get myself to the church (well… the park) on time.

Hair was done by 12:30. Makeup mishap was over by 2:30 and dear Libby had timet to get my beautified. My bridesmaids, Jen and Crystal, and MC/honorary hanger-on Trudy all looked fantastic. I must say, I looked spectacular in my dress and little blue shoes.

We got there on time. The ceremony was bilingual and personal. Dinner was tasty, the speeches were heartfelt and the party really was a party.

My favourite part? That no one walked away from the wedding saying “It was nice.” It was fun. We had SingStar (Josh and I opened things up with Total Eclipse of the Heart) and dancing and it really was a party. Josh did lose the boat race though.

Now we’re tanned and back from the honeymoon. Josh is fond of saying: “The honeymoon is over!” but today, he’s realisig that it really is over. The closets are being purged and we’ve decided there are a couple boxes of things that we want to ship over.

We’re newlyweds but not yet ex-pats and that is happening sooner than we know it.

We have some stuff for sale here. Also, you can find a few photos of our big day here.

Stay tuned! The posts will happen much more regularly now.
